Downtown Warner Theatre

Downtown Warner Theatre

Many times in a building or theatre's life it will go through a few changes and so it has for the building that houses the now named Jewelry Theater Center.
Built in 1920 as the second Pantages theatre it was designed in a Greek revival style for owner Alexander Pantages. Later the theatre was acquired by Warner Bros and became the Downtown Warner Theatre, it ran as the Warner till the mid sixties and was then purchased by another theatre chain and ran as the Warrens Theatre for the next twelve years.
The theatre was then sold to a church which operated there for awhile and then finally sold once more to the Jewelry Exchange and it has remained a retail outlet for that business still operating today at the corner of Hill St. and 7th in downtown LA
